Building Your Credit Score

This is very practical advice. It seems so unromantic, but the reality is that marriages can’t survive on love alone. Especially for young people who got their credit cards quick before they even knew how to be responsible for it. Sharing one’s life with someone means more than sharing bed, and board. It also means sharing the other’s credit card debt, which wouldn’t be good for the relationship in general if the other doesn’t know about it. The good thing about it is that it doesn’t just talk about doom and gloom, because there are ways to solve these problems that are not so mundane as they seem to be.

Like it as not, marriage is a lot like a business merger, with all your assets and liabilities pooled together, even if the couple decides to put it down on a pre-nup that it isn’t, life has a way of finding loopholes. Besides, wouldn’t it be more useful to know if the person one is about to marry is going through a credit rebuild rather than how they like their eggs? Full disclosure is important in getting a job, why should it be unimportant when a couple decides to promise “till death do us part?”
